The Jericho Road Project (JRP) is a Christian Urban Mission project working with those at risk of or affected by the sex industry in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire. Established for over 25 years, we have a small staff team and around 70 volunteers from churches across Nottinghamshire. We work with around 100 women engaged in or affected by the sex industry both on and off street.
This is a key post, offering an exciting opportunity to become a key member our dynamic staff team, working to maintain, develop and improve the financial and administrative processes and systems of JRP.
As a growing organisation we need an effective and efficient administrative centre to support what we do now and enable future development.
Responsible to our CEO, the postholder will work closely with other team members including our Operations Assistant, our Finance team, including the Treasurer and Fundraising Co-ordinator. The postholder will carry out a range of financial and wider administrative duties, ensuring the efficient running of the Base and our activities. This includes helping with fundraising by supporting donors and encouraging donations along with the Operations Assistant.
This new post will gather tasks which have been dispersed across the team, bringing focus and streamlining to our administrative functions as well as supporting our new services.
Familiarity with working in a charitable context would be an advantage, as well as an awareness of the issues of working with marginalised and excluded people and volunteers. You should have the ability to operate in a calm and supportive manner at all times, including in stressful contexts. You should be able to motivate others and enjoy working in a team.
You should have a good range of IT skills and experience of working with budgets, office administrative software (Microsoft 365, including Excel) and finance systems. Applicants should demonstrate an ability to support and promote the Christian ethos of JRP.
Induction training and supervision will be provided.
Normal hours of work are between Tuesday and Friday, and the post is located at our Base (1a Chestnut Grove, Nottingham, NG3 5AD) with some homeworking available.
